Way back in the depths of this seemingly never-ending recession, I was moved to create this poster advocating the petty theft of stationery items from corporate giant-type employers. The slogan is of course a rip from the excellent King Missile song of the same name (low quality YouTube vid here)… It’s kind of a white collar version of Johnny Cash’s gradual car theft ditty ‘One Piece at a Time’.

The font was created by bending and re-bending a single office paper clip. Obviously Frank normally just says “No” to stealing and the staplers and layout pads of small, independently-owned graphic design companies should definitely be considered off limits.

After a fruitless trawl through the gift shops of Shoreditch in search of an anniversary card for the wife, I decided to make my own using wood block type and old brown envelopes.
